V. Rev. Dr. Cleopas Strongylis

I first met Father Cleopas on February 12, 2002 in my office in Bayside, New York, when he came for a regular check-up. Our mutual love for Greek Literature, Ancient Greek History, as well as Orthodox Theology made us connect almost immediately and since then we are very good friends. Father Cleopas was born in Nea Smyrni, Athens, Greece and studied Theology at the University of Athens, Greece. He extended his studies at Durham University in England and later on at Boston University and Harvard Divinity School in the United States. He was granted a Doctorate in Theology by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki for his thesis "Saint Nectarios of Pentapolis & the Patriarchate of Alexandria", a historical study based on original sources. Father Cleopas is a charismatic theologian and priest with a strong, though pleasant personality. He has a profound knowledge of Orthodox Theology with an area of expertise in the Patristic and Contemporary Interpretation of the Bible. At present, he serves as Dean of the Annunciation Cathedral of Boston, Massachusetts.
